We have good knowledge of both, the judicial and extrajudicial bankruptcy proceedings.
We advise both, the creditors as well as the debtors in matters concerning the reorganisation proceedings, we prepare the necessary documents.
We represent both, the creditors as well as the debtors in the enforcement proceedings. This includes helping you with
- drafting and submitting the enforcement application
- communicating with the enforcement agent
- protecting the client’s interest in the proceedings for the declaration of the enforcement inadmissible
- representing clients at the various stages of enforcement proceedings (seizure, valuation of things and sale, etc.).

Jüri Sirel
Sworn Attorney / Managing PartnerSworn attorney Jüri Sirel advises clients primarily in matters of financial, commercial and bankruptcy law, the law of obligations and administrative law. Jüri possesses extensive experience representing clients on all levels of the judicial system in civil and administrative disputes, arbitral disputes and precontractual and extra-judicial negotiations.
In addition, Jüri also handles legal consultation of companies in hedging various financial risks, establishing and restructuring companies, competition law, real estate transactions, contractual disputes, and preparing notices of appeal to the European Court of Human Rights. Jüri has played a role in the work of bankruptcy committees in a number of major bankruptcy cases and has represented creditors and debtors in protection of their interests in all stages of bankruptcy proceedings.
Jüri is a managing partner at Sirel & Partners. He is a 2001 cum laude graduate of Concordia International University’s school of law in the field of international, European Union and comparative law. He has obtained further experience as a lecturer on legal topics and taking part in various in-service training and legal work groups.
Jüri has been a member of the Estonian Bar Association since 2002 and a sworn attorney since 2004. Before the founding of Sirel & Partners, he was employed as a lawyer and an attorney at Law Office Leppik & Partners.
Jüri is the Chairman of the Estonian Bar Association Insolvency Law Committee.
Jüri is proficient in both English and Finnish, and in spoken Russian language.
Janno Kuusk
Sworn Attorney / PartnerSworn attorney Janno Kuusk’s area of expertise lies in the law of obligations, contract law, employment law, securities law, bankruptcy law and aviation law.
Janno prepares and analyzes various legal documents in these fields and represents clients in precontractual negotiations as well as in court.
In his everyday activity, Janno provides consultation to many of Estonia’s major industries and commercial companies on a running basis in issues of commercial law and the law of obligations, including one of Estonia’s largest retailers, Estonia’s largest distiller and one of Estonia’s largest beverage manufacturers and breweries. Janno also services many foreign clients, including one of the world’s largest insurance groups.
Janno is a 2004 graduate of the University of Tartu’s Institute of law and has been a member of the Estonian Bar Association since 2005. Janno became sworn attorney in 2008. Before joining Sirel & Partners, he was employed at one of Estonia’s largest media companies and at Hansapank, specializing in securities.
Janno is proficient in both English and Finnish, and in spoken Russian language.
Kristel Viru
Sworn Attorney / PartnerSworn attorney Kristel Viru specialises in a field of court procedure advising clients primarily in civil disputes.
Kristel has represented clients in very complex and large-scale disputes, she is committed, precise and aims to achieve a good result for the client. Kristel advises clients mainly in contract law, insolvency proceedings and construction law. Kristel also represents clients in administrative court and administrative proceedings and defends clients’ interests in proceedings related to economic crimes.
In her everyday activity, Kristel advises clients on their current business, debt and employment law matters. Kristel has also represented clients in various stages of bankruptcy proceedings. She has experience in resolving related disputes in the field of family law both in court proceedings and in extra-judicial disputes.
Kristel has been a member of the Estonian Bar Association since 2014 and a sworn attorney since 2016. Before joining Law Firm Sirel & Partners Kristel worked as a lawyer in Tallinn City Council where her area of work was local taxes, various entrepreneurship supports and other current issues related to administrative law.
Kristel is proficient in Russian and English.
