Sworn attorney Steven-Hristo Evestus: “Today’s criminal proceedings clearly indicate a situation where victims and suspects, along with their representatives and defense attorneys, are too often and too long excluded from important information.”

“Over the past year, I have stood as a lawyer on both sides, protecting the interests and rights of both the victim and the suspect. Behind these procedural roles are people of flesh and blood, whose main desire in both cases was the final and fair resolution of the proceedings, which lasted about five years, along with achieving legal and mental peace. Both cases reached or are still reaching this peace without these specific persons knowing about it. I do not have the expert authority to establish a causal link between death and criminal proceedings that produce endless uncertainty. Let it be the task of those who can also take responsibility for such a statement. All I can say is that I would not have wanted to be in their shoes.”
