Sirel & Partners advised Hansapost and Hobby Hall merger transaction.

Attorneys-at-law Janno Kuusk and Rajar Miller advised Hobby Hall Oy and its shareholders SGN Group Oy and Four P&P Consulting Oy in merger of the largest Estonian online store Hansapost and the legendary Finnish retail enterprise Hobby Hall. By the transaction Hobby Hall acquired the business of Hansapost and Hansapost acquired 46 % shareholding in Hobby Hall, from which in addition to Hansapost shareholding, 46 % belongs to SGN Group, a Finnish family company and Hobby Hall’s current major shareholder, and 8 % is owned by Four P&P Consulting, a company owned by CEO of Hobby Hall, Pekka Pättiniemi. Turnover of the international joint venture exceeds 80 million euros, the total number of employees over 225, and there are over 330,000 items in assortment of offered products.


The company will continue as a joint venture, but local trademarks - Hobby Hall in Finland, Hansapost in Estonia and Xnet with Upstore in Latvia, will remain. According to the transaction parties, after the merger the range of items available to the customers of Hobby Hall and Hansapost will expand and larger purchasing amounts will allow better terms and conditions to be offered for the customers.
